I hate Fortnite

I’m more of a call of duty girl myself

But when your brother who you never really had anything to connect with asks you to play

Do you deny?

I didn’t.

I made fun of every emote, skin, and gun

But I played, I lost, quickly and often but I played.

We joked, we laughed, we bonded.

Better than when I said “get off the game, it’s family time”

Better than forced conversation at the dinner table

Better than anything I could of scheduled

It was so authentic

I didn’t realize we bonded until I heard the excitement in anticipation

for the next time we’d play

I hate Fortnite

but I play Fortnite.
